Everton Road,Corby Loyalists and Florencecourt Annual parades 27th/28th May 2011.
What a weekend . Half the band left Fermanagh in the early hours of the morning to travel to Dublin for our trip to Liverpool and Corby for what was to become an unbelievable weekend. We arrived in Liverpool, got booked into our hotel and got ready to head to our first engagement of the day, a wee short parade around Liverpool,(3/4 miles) which we had the honour of leading to the Derry club, where we laid a wreath. The parade then continued with the hosts Everton Road Proddie Boy’s leading the parade towards the Provvie Club. A couple hundred yards from the club all the bands in front of us split ranks to line each side of the road for us to continue parading to enormous rounds of applause. With that part of the day over we entered the Provvie Club for well earned refreshments and a short break until we then played for the 2nd time of the day in the club. Once again we were well received.
A big big thankyou to John(Fitz) and all the rest of the guys and dolls for a brilliant day & night.
So up earlish to Bus it down towards Corby, and once again got booked into the hotel and ready for round 2. This was too involve another wee short parade(6/7 miles) this time for our great friend’s in the Corby Loyalists, have too say the parade was quite enjoyable, although I was behind the camera and not playing any instruments, thank god lol. Not bad crowds about with most of them walking the parade route, and of coarse the sun was beating down. So we finally got to the venue for our second concert of the weekend. The members must of been knackered by this stage but well done to them, they got up and played their hearts out.
On Sunday we got a wee lye in till about 10am, to then go a play a five a side football competition against Corby’s finest players. We lifted the trophy. Well done guy’s. Our Corby hosts then prepared a fabulous meal for us in the Corby Rangers Club, and we danced and sang the night away.
Monday morning up early again to head back for the ferry back home.We had a brilliant weekend, and can I say a big big thankyou not only too our members who really done not only the Blood & Thunder scene proud, but also our band. I am really proud of you all,but also to the Corby Loyalists,The Corby Rangers Supporters Club, and Helen in the Candle. You all made us feel very welcome and I know that there was friendships made that will last forever.Looking forward to seeing you all in Enniskillen in September.
Now to the other half of the band left at home. They went to Florencecourt for their annual parade, and I think I can safely say it is the first time in the bands history that we have been to 2 parades on the same night, and in 2 different countries. The band also played well there and well done to the members for representing the band at home.
So to finish of,to any bands out there, get yourselves over to Corby, them guys know how to welcome a band from Ulster, and they will return the support. Again a big thank you to all involved in this unbelievable weekend.

Cormeen, Enniskillen Fusiliers Omagh True Blues and Shankill Star annual parades 2011
Well peeps first of all sorry about the lack of reports on our first four parades of the season, but my excuse if that i’m doing a wee bit of studying at the minute for a coarse i’m doing. So i will give a brief report on the parades so far and then all being well will do proper reports for the rest of the parades we do this season.
So here goes, and what can i say, well we have really hit the road running this year, near 100% turnout for the four parades so far, and the buzz in the band is unbelievable. New tunes being wrote out nearly on a weekly basis and learnt on the road within a couple of band practices. Also couple of new members on parade with us this season, another cymbal player(Matthew) and flute (Nathan), welcome lads and hope you enjoy your time on parade with us.
We have a few still learning and hopefully if they get their fingers out should be on parade sometime this season.
Anyway onto the parades, firstly Cormeen, as said above nearly a full turnout, which i was really chuffed with, always good to get the first parade done. Hope Cormeen had a good lift, next was Enniskillen Fusiliers, and another good turnout of members on parade. The band played really well, and was good to support the Fusiliers on their first of hopefully many good annual parades in our County Town.
Next was Omagh True Blues parade were we picked up our 1st trophy of the season. 2nd small blood & thunder. well done to Steeple for picking up 1st. Well done to the Omagh True Blues for another succesful parade.

Have to say the band played brilliant, few we things need sorted, but overall going great guns, and roll on the rest of the season. well done to Shankill Star, a brilliant parade as always.
So our next parade is postponed (Drumhillery Pride of the Frontier),but as said all being well reports will be back to normal from our next parade.
South Fermanagh Loyalist Flute Band annual parade 24th September 2010
Well folks what can I say. The parade started with our now traditional start of the Lisnaskea Drumming Club (Lambegs)
We gave them a wee bit of a head start and the Corby Loyalist Flute Band played a couple of tunes to entertain the crowd at the start. After a short while Corby lead the parade and stopped at the cenotaph to lay a wreath. They then proceeded
up towards the Diamond and the reception they got was brilliant. The rest of the parade continued at a steady pace, and of coarse there was a few new bands on parade in Enniskillen for the first time, ie, Wee Corbet acc, Craigavon Prod Boys,Portadown Defenders, Skeogh and Synotts. A big thank you to them and hopefully this will the first of many years to come.
It has now also become a tradition for the Enniskillen pipe band to change formation just before the Diamond and march as a Blood & Thunder pipe band, and what a response they get.
So the last bands left the starting point and it was South Fermanagh Loyalists time to take to the street, for the first time at our own parade in Enniskillen, we were all nervous because we had to make sure we had enough marshalls left on the route. Needless to say, everyone that was there seen us coming up the street to the Diamond with our biggest band all year, ( Still don’t know were they all came from) and we played our hearts out. We had our new band flag on parade for the first time also, and thank you everyone for your kind comments.
We paraded with 6 colour party 1 staffer, 9 drum corp, 1 cymbals, 2 bass drummers and 18 flute corp.
We ended our night with our disco in the Unionist Hall and off coarse Corby Loyalists got up and played a few tunes and they went down a storm.
Looking forward to our trip to Corby next year. BRING IT ON.
